For dropshipping stores
Dropshipping ads: run Meta campaigns on margin, not ROAS alone
Adrails gives dropshipping store owners a way to run Facebook ads for Shopify products on the margin each product actually has. Break-even ROAS is set per product from cost, shipping and fees, Shopify orders are read next to Meta spend for the same period, and automations pause what crosses the line between your checks.

Margin first
Break-even ROAS from the product's own costs
Set it per product before the first ad set spends. Above it the ad makes money; below it the ROAS column hides a loss.
- Contribution per order
Price - product cost - shipping - payment and fulfillment fees
What one order leaves before ad spend.
- Break-even ROAS
Price / contribution per order
A $39.90 product that costs $12 to buy, $6 to ship and $1.50 in fees leaves $20.40, so break-even ROAS is 1.96. A 2.5 ROAS is profit here and a loss on a product whose break-even is 3.2.
- Maximum cost per order
Contribution per order - profit kept per order
Keep $5 of profit on each order of this product and the ad may cost at most $15.40 per order; at a 2% conversion rate, that is $0.31 a click.

Test stages
The rule at each stage, within the product's safety limits
Each stage has one question and one rule written as a number before launch. The limits are the ones Adrails applies to every change it prepares.
| Stage | What you look at | Rule | In Adrails |
|---|---|---|---|
| Test | One campaign, one ad set per creative, a daily budget each | Meta leaves the learning phase after about 50 results in a week, so size the budget on the results you expect; judge nothing before an ad set has spent a daily budget and reached 1,000 impressions | The Campaign Manager builds the hierarchy from the brief. Everything is created paused; you switch it on |
| Confirm | Cost per order against the maximum from the formula, on Shopify orders rather than Meta's count alone | Keep what sits under the maximum cost per order on Shopify orders; a creative under 1,000 impressions is still Learning and not yet judged | Analysis sets Shopify orders and net sales next to Meta spend for the same period. Creatives shows the Learning, Winning or Wasted signal per asset |
| Scale | The ad sets that hold under break-even on 7 days of Shopify orders | Raise the budget by at most 30% per change, only after measured spend and at least one result, then wait; Meta says frequent budget changes can send an ad set back into learning | The Media Buyer prepares the raise with the current and new value and the reason. Applied in one click, measured after 24 hours, 3 days and 7 days |
| Kill | Spend without a result, or cost per order above the maximum over 7 days | Pause once an ad set has spent a daily budget with 1,000 impressions and no result; pause a creative marked Fatigued or Wasted before replacing it | A stop-loss automation checks every hour and pauses up to 50 items a run, as a proposal or at once. A pause can be undone while Meta still holds the state Adrails wrote |

01
Dropshipping ads are a margin problem before they are a ROAS problem
Dropshipping ads run on thin margins, so a ROAS that looks healthy in Ads Manager can lose money once the supplier price, shipping and payment fees are taken out. Facebook ads for dropshipping start with one figure per product: the break-even ROAS, the price over what one order leaves. A 2.5 ROAS is profit on a product with a 1.96 break-even and a loss on one at 3.2.
Adrails keeps Meta's figures and Shopify's side by side rather than merging them. Spend, results and ROAS are what Meta reports; orders, net sales and refunds are what Shopify recorded for the same period, arriving in real time through webhooks and reconciled every 15 minutes. When the two disagree you see both, which is how a product Meta credits with 40 orders and Shopify with 28 is caught in the first week.
Ask the Analysis Expert which products the orders were for and which campaigns brought them. A campaign's Tracking tab shows the customers each ad brought and their lifetime spend, from your store, for the journeys that carried the campaign and ad ids Adrails adds to its ads.
- Break-even ROAS set per product, from your own costs
- Shopify orders, net sales and refunds next to Meta spend
- A maximum cost per order that every test is judged against
02
Test budgets and kill rules the product can afford
Facebook ads for Shopify products are usually tested one ad set per creative, each with its own daily budget. Meta's delivery system leaves the learning phase after about 50 results in the week following the last significant edit, and Meta advises realistic budgets rather than very small ones, so a tiny ad set on a mid-priced product is a signal, not a test. Size the budget on the results you expect, or accept that the test answers a narrower question.
The threshold Adrails uses for a pause is fixed: an active campaign that has spent at least one daily budget, with at least 1,000 impressions and no result, is flagged as Spend without results on Home with a Prepare pause button. A stop-loss automation applies the same logic on a schedule or when a metric crosses a value, checked every hour, pausing up to 50 items a run.
Write the kill rule as a number before launch: the maximum cost per order from the formula, over 7 days of Shopify orders. The Media Buyer reads the ad sets against it and prepares the pauses with the figures that led to them; you apply them in one click and undo them if a late order changes the picture.
03
Scale in 30% steps, on Shopify orders
A budget change prepared by Adrails moves at most 30% at a time, and an increase needs at least one result and spend of at least one daily budget behind it. That cap is a safety limit, and on fast-turning products it is also the right pace: Meta notes that frequent budget changes can send an ad set back into the learning phase, so one raise, then a wait, then the next.
Scale the ad sets that hold under break-even on Shopify orders, not on Meta's attributed revenue alone. Adrails measures each applied change after 24 hours, 3 days and 7 days and shows the outcome in Priorities, so a raise that pushed cost per order above the maximum is visible before the next one.
Split tests settle which hook or offer scales. Two to four versions of an ad differ in one variable, Adrails reads the test about once an hour and names a winner at 95% confidence, never before every variant has 10 conversions. Ending the test prepares a pause for each losing variant.

Creative fatigue on products that turn in weeks
A dropshipping product rarely runs one creative for months. Creatives lists every image and video once, across every ad that uses it, with spend, results, CPA, ROAS, CTR and frequency and a signal: Winning, Fatigued, Learning under 1,000 impressions, Wasted when it spent with no result, or Steady.
Label ads in their names with tags such as [angle: price] or [persona: parents] and the next sync lets you group creatives by angle or hook, so the angle that sells a product is known before the creative that carried it wears out. A Creative fatigue automation posts the fatigued assets to Slack or Discord on the schedule you set.
Sourcing and fulfillment stay in your tools. AutoDS, DSers, Zendrop, CJ Dropshipping and Dropship.io find and ship the product; Adrails launches and measures the Meta test for it, and the two meet in your Shopify store.
- Every asset once, across every ad and account that runs it
- Signals: Winning, Fatigued, Learning, Wasted, Steady
- Labels from ad names, grouped by angle, hook or persona

FAQ
Common questions
What ROAS do I need for dropshipping?
Your break-even ROAS, which is the price divided by what one order leaves after product cost, shipping and fees, plus the margin you want to keep. Adrails uses no market figure; the break-even is yours per product, and Shopify orders decide whether a campaign clears it.
Can Adrails pause a losing product's ads automatically?
Yes. A stop-loss automation checks every hour and pauses what crosses your line, either at once after Adrails checks the platform or as a proposal that waits 24 hours, and every pause is logged with the figures behind it.
Does Adrails connect to AutoDS, DSers or Zendrop?
Not directly. They run sourcing and fulfillment in your Shopify store; Adrails reads that store's orders next to Meta spend and runs the ads that bring them in.
Will the agent raise a winning ad set's budget on its own?
No. It prepares the raise, capped at 30% per change and only after measured spend and a result, you apply it in Adrails, and the change is measured after 24 hours, 3 days and 7 days.
