Claude connectors for marketing teams
Claude's connector directory lists 892 connectors, and any remote MCP server can be added by URL. For a marketing team, about a dozen matter: Meta's own ad connector or Adrails for the ad accounts, Shopify and Stripe for revenue, Klaviyo and HubSpot for email and CRM, Semrush and Ahrefs for SEO data, Canva and Google Drive for creative and briefs. This guide says what each one reads and changes, who runs it, and the five checks to run before you connect anything.

01
What a Claude connector is
A connector links Claude to an outside service so it can read data there and take actions for you during a conversation. Under the hood every connector is a remote MCP server, and Claude's directory is a catalog of them: one catalog for claude.ai, the desktop app, mobile, Claude Code and Cowork. On 4 October 2026 it listed 892 connectors, each with a page that names who made it and which tools read and which write.
Each listing carries a label. Verified means Anthropic tested the tools for quality and compatibility, and Anthropic is explicit that this is not a security audit. Community means the developer's server was screened but not reviewed in depth. A server that is not listed is added as a custom connector with its URL and runs on exactly the same technology. Custom connectors are open to the free plan, limited to one, and to every paid plan. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds a connector for the organization, and members connect with their own account.
02
Start with the ad accounts
For a paid media team the first connector is the one that reads the ad accounts, because that is where the questions start: what did we spend, what came back, which campaign moved. Three servers do it. Meta's own Meta Ads AI Connectors, launched on 29 April 2026, is a custom connector at mcp.facebook.com/ads with 29 tools: performance, catalogs, dataset diagnostics, benchmarks, and campaign creation, with everything it creates landing paused. It covers Meta only. Google's open source Google Ads MCP server has three read-only tools and runs where you deploy it, so it is a connector for a team with an engineer.
Adrails is a custom connector at adrails.ai/api/mcp that covers Meta Ads and Google Ads in one sign-in, with 63 tools. It reads spend and results across every account of a workspace in one call, reads store revenue next to them, and prepares changes rather than writing them: a pause, a budget move of at most 30%, a duplicate, a split test or a new launch comes back as a proposal with a link, and an owner or admin applies it in Adrails, where it can be undone while the platform allows. Many teams will connect Meta's server for catalogs and dataset quality and Adrails for the cross-account reading and the changes.
03
Put revenue next to spend
An ad platform reports the revenue its pixel attributed to its own ads, and Shopify reports what the store actually recorded. The difference is the question a founder asks every Monday, and a connector answers it in one table. The Shopify connector, made by Shopify and verified, has 25 tools: it reads products, orders, customers, inventory and analytics, and writes products, inventory, discounts and collections. The Stripe connector reads balances and analytics for a business that bills through Stripe.
If Adrails is already connected, a media team needs neither for this job: Adrails reads Shopify and Stripe revenue itself and sets it next to ad spend for the same dates, which is how the marketing efficiency ratio is read from the chat. Connect Shopify directly when the work is the store, not the ads: catalog edits, inventory, discounts.
04
Email, CRM and SEO data
Klaviyo joined the directory in January 2026. Claude reads campaigns, flows, segments, lists, profiles and metrics, and can create campaigns and update profiles and subscriptions. HubSpot has been in the directory since November 2025: contacts, companies, deals, tickets and campaign performance are read and written, and landing pages, blog posts and marketing emails can be managed from the chat. Both are made by the vendor, so the data stays under the account you sign in with.
Semrush and Ahrefs both list their servers in the directory. Semrush reads keywords, backlinks, traffic estimates and read-only project data, and bills every call in the API units of your Semrush plan. Ahrefs MCP is open to Lite and higher plans, and each call costs at least 50 of the plan's API units, which it shares with the API. Neither writes anything, so the check that matters is the cost: an afternoon of keyword questions is metered.
05
Creative, briefs and the team's files
Canva's connector, made by Canva, lets Claude search designs and create, autofill and export new ones, which turns a brief in the chat into the first draft of a static. Google Drive, made by Google, reads Docs, Sheets, Slides and PDFs and uploads or creates files, so the brand guide, the offer sheet and last quarter's report are read without an upload.
Slack, Notion and Figma sit in the same top row of the directory and do what you expect: read and post messages, read and update pages, read design context. They matter for a marketing team as the places briefs and results already live, not as sources of ad data.
06
Five checks before you connect anything
Anthropic's own guidance applies whatever the label: connect only servers from developers you trust, review the permission scopes on the sign-in page, and remember that the developer controls the tools and can change them after review. The table above turns that into five checks, and the two that bite are who runs the server and what it can change.
After the sign-in, open the connector under Customize, Connectors. Under Tool permissions each tool, or each group of tools, is set to Always allow, to Blocked, or to ask you each time, so a connector that writes can be kept read-only for your account. In a conversation, the + menu, then Connectors, switches each connector on or off for that chat. With Adrails the write tools are already separated at the sign-in: Prepare advertising changes is its own permission, granted by an owner or admin, and a prepared change is still applied in Adrails rather than by the client's permission prompt.

07
Add one and use it in a chat
Open Customize, then Connectors, and choose Discover. Search for the service or browse the categories, open its page, read the tools, and choose Connect to Claude. The service's sign-in page opens, you review the access and allow it, and the connector appears under Your connectors as Connected. For a server that is not listed, choose Add custom connector, name it and paste its URL; the sign-in works the same way.
In a new chat, open the + menu, choose Connectors and turn the connector on. Ask a question that needs it, and allow the tool call once or always. To check that it reads what you expect, start with a question whose answer you know: last week's spend on one account, or yesterday's orders. The setup guide walks through Adrails in Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT and Codex step by step.
Before you connect
Five checks before you connect anything
Five minutes on the connector's page and the vendor's documentation, before the sign-in.
| Check | Where to look | What good looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Who runs it | The connector page: Made by, and the Verified or Community label | The vendor itself, or a company you would hand an API key to. Verified is a quality review, not a security audit. |
| What it can change | The read and write tools listed on the connector page | The writes the job needs and none you did not ask for. Block the rest under Tool permissions. |
| Whose login | The sign-in page and the scopes it asks for | Your own account, with the scopes the job needs. One ad account when one is enough. |
| What happens to a change | The vendor's documentation | A created campaign lands paused, and a change has a review step or an undo. |
| What it costs | The vendor's plan page | Included in a plan you already pay for, or metered units with a cap you set. |

FAQ
Common questions
What are Claude connectors?
Connectors let Claude read data from an outside service and take actions there during a conversation. Each one is a remote MCP server. The directory lists the ones Anthropic has verified or screened, and any other server is added as a custom connector with its URL.
Are Claude connectors free?
Directory connectors are included on every Claude plan. Custom connectors are available on the free plan, limited to one, and on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. The service behind a connector may need its own paid plan, and Semrush and Ahrefs meter each call in API units.
Is a connector the same thing as an MCP server?
Yes. A connector is Claude's name for a remote MCP server you have signed in to. Directory connectors and custom connectors use the same technology; the directory only adds a review label and makes the server easy to find.
Which connector reads Meta Ads and Google Ads?
Meta's own connector covers Meta only, and Google's open source server covers Google Ads, read-only, where you run it. Adrails covers both in one connector, with store revenue next to spend, and prepares changes that are applied in Adrails.
Can I stop a connector from changing anything?
Yes. Open the connector under Customize, Connectors, and under Tool permissions set its write tools to Blocked. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner can restrict tools for the whole organization. A connector cannot do more than the service's own permissions allow.
Does Claude have a Google Analytics connector?
Google publishes an experimental, read-only Google Analytics MCP server that runs on your computer or your own deployment, with seven tools for GA4 reports. Third-party connectors in the directory read GA4 through their own account linking.
