The agent and credits

How to work with the agent, what it can read and propose, and how agent credits are counted.

The agent lives on Home and in each conversation. You ask in plain words; it reads your ad accounts and your connected data, answers with figures, and prepares changes for approval when you ask for one.

Ask the agent

  1. Open Home and type in the message box (Ask Adrails).
  2. Choose the ad account the question is about. Mention a campaign, ad set or ad to point the agent at it.
  3. Pick a mode: Fast for routine work, Deep for complex work.
  4. Send. The answer appears in a conversation you can reopen later.

Type / in the message box to insert a saved request, called a shortcut. See Knowledge and skills.

Specialists

You can talk to the general agent or pick a specialist: Campaign Manager, Creative Strategist, Analysis Expert or Media Buyer. Administrators can add custom agents in Knowledge, up to 20 per workspace.

What the agent can do

Read. Performance over any period, diagnosis of a change in results, budget recommendations, the structure of your campaigns, your creatives and their fatigue, the findings of your rules, the history of changes made in Adrails, your store's revenue, orders, customers and products, your subscription figures, and your Google Drive folders.

Propose. Pause or resume a campaign, ad set or ad. Change a budget. Build a new campaign or new ads from a brief. Duplicate a campaign. Set up a split test. Apply a fix to a finding. Undo an earlier change.

Every proposal is a card with Apply and Reject. Nothing is sent to Meta or Google Ads until an administrator applies it. See Approvals and undo.

Proposals carry safety limits. A single budget change is capped at 30%, and an increase needs measured spend and results behind it. New campaigns and ads are created paused; switching them on is its own approval.

How credits are counted

Credits are counted per task, not per word or per token.

A message you send is first sorted. A short question the agent answers as a chat reply uses no credits. It counts against a daily chat allowance instead. A message the agent handles as a task uses credits.

These messages are always tasks, so they always use credits:

  • a message that uses a shortcut,
  • a message with an attachment,
  • a message that mentions a campaign, ad set, ad or other item,
  • an answer to a card the agent showed you.

These do not use credits: approving or rejecting a proposal, and retrying a task that failed. Regenerating an answer counts as a new task.

Credits per plan

Credits belong to the workspace. They reset on the first day of each month (UTC), whatever your billing date. Unused credits do not carry over. Each person runs one agent at a time. The daily chat allowance resets at midnight UTC.

Where to see your balance

  • Sidebar: Agent credits used, with a bar.
  • Settings > Plan: Usage this month, with the date credits reset.

When credits run out

The message box says No agent task credits left and chat replies keep working within their daily allowance. Upgrade the plan in Settings > Plan for more credits. On Business, contact us to raise the monthly limit.

If you have some credits left but fewer than the mode needs, switch to Fast or wait for the reset.

Watch for

  • Ask the agent buttons on Home and Prepare next step in Creatives only write a question. Credits are used when you send it.
  • Automations with an agent step use credits each time the step runs. See Automations.
  • Only owners and administrators can apply what the agent proposes. Members can ask and read.
  • On Preview, every change is refused: Preview is read-only.
