Slack, Discord and Telegram

Ask the Adrails agent anything about your business from Slack, Discord or Telegram, and approve the changes your automations prepare with a button there.

Adrails has its own app in Slack and its own bot in Discord and Telegram. Wherever it is connected, it does the same three things:

  • Answers any question about your business, from your ads to the tools you connected, as the person who asks, with your workspace's data.
  • Posts what your automations send: reports, agent answers, and each change waiting for approval.
  • Takes Approve and Reject on those changes, from owners and administrators.

Connect a channel

Open Integrations, then Connect next to Slack, Discord or Telegram. Slack asks for the channel on its own page, Discord for the server; Telegram makes a link. Automations has the same, under Connect a channel.

ServiceHow it connects
SlackAdd to Slack. Slack asks which channel Adrails posts to, and the bot joins it. In a private channel, invite it with /invite @Adrails. Your Slack account is linked at once.
DiscordConnect opens Discord, which asks for a server you manage; the bot joins it and your Discord account is linked at once. Back in Adrails, choose one of its channels, and any other later. A private channel needs its Adrails role given access. Add the bot to as many servers as you need.
TelegramConnect Telegram makes a link that opens the Adrails bot: Open a private chat, or Add to a group. Press Start in Telegram; the bot says when the chat is connected. The link works once, for thirty minutes.
EmailUp to 10 addresses.

Only owners and administrators can connect a channel. In an automation, a send step posts to any connected channel.

A Discord webhook or a Slack webhook pasted before the apps existed keeps posting reports. It carries no buttons. A new Discord channel is connected through the bot only.

Ask Adrails

ServiceHow to ask
SlackMention @Adrails in a channel the app is in, or send it a direct message.
DiscordMention @Adrails, use /ask, or send the bot a direct message.
TelegramWrite to the bot in a private chat, or use /ask in a group.

@Adrails which ad sets had the best ROAS last week, and how much did they spend?

Adrails first says it is looking at your data, then answers with a Continue in Adrails link to the same conversation, where its charts and tables are. Replying to an answer, in the thread or with your service's reply, follows up on the same conversation.

  • As you: the agent reads what your Adrails account may read, in the workspace the channel or server is connected to, and nothing outside your account scope.
  • Reads only: from a chat, the agent reads and recommends. A budget change or a launch is prepared and approved in Adrails.
  • Credits: each answer is counted like a message in Adrails. See The agent and credits.
  • Limits: up to 20 questions an hour for each person and 60 for each workspace, from all chat services together.
  • Saved: each conversation is in the Slack, Discord or Telegram folder of your chats.

Approve from a chat

An automation that changes ads in Ask for approval mode posts each change it prepares: what changes, before and after, and the figures that led to it, with Approve and Reject.

  • Approve applies the change after Adrails checks on the ad platform that nothing changed since it was prepared. The message then says who approved it and what changed.
  • Reject closes it. The message says who rejected it and that nothing changed.
  • A change that cannot be applied says why in place of its buttons.

Only owners and administrators of the Adrails workspace can approve or reject. When someone else presses a button, only they read why, and the buttons stay for someone who can.

Adrails acts as the Adrails user your chat account is linked to. The first time you press a button or ask without a linked account, Adrails sends you a Link my account button, where only you see it: a message only you can see in Slack and Discord, a direct message in Discord or Telegram otherwise. It opens Adrails, signed in, and shows the chat account it links. Link only your own account. The link lasts fifteen minutes. In Discord and Telegram, /link asks for one at any time; adding Adrails to Slack, or the bot to a Discord server, links the account of whoever adds it.

Integrations shows, under each chat app, whether your own account is linked and how to link it when it is not.

Watch for

  • The apps see only messages addressed to them: mentions, replies to their answers, commands and direct messages. They do not read the rest of your channels.
  • An answer the agent could not give says why in place of its waiting message, for example when no action credits are left.
  • A Slack channel connected before Adrails could answer questions keeps posting. To ask there, connect it again with Add to Slack.
